What Jesus Taught

 

Jesus taught that God is a caring Father.  Jesus taught that this future hope is being fulfilled now.  Jesus taught that "the way" was narrow and that we should not assume that all who call Jesus "Lord" are really Christians.  Jesus taught that men are free to believe and do whatever they like.  Jesus taught that we could have spiritual unity without necessarily having philosophical uniformity.  Jesus taught that believers must publicly acknowledge him.  Jesus taught that the Sabbath was made for man.  Jesus taught that there is life after death.  Jesus taught that what we receive from his words will be in proportion to the soil we have in our hearts.  Jesus taught that we can all develop these attitudes.  Jesus taught that those who were merciful would be given mercy.  Jesus taught that it is God's will or intention for us to love our "neighbor."  Jesus taught that no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he repents.  Jesus taught that few would be saved.  Jesus taught that all is one, all is God, and man is God.  Jesus taught that he was not uniquely God.  Jesus taught that believers should pray together for the provision and protection of all believers.  Jesus taught that true righteousness comes from within.  Jesus taught that we should turn the other cheek.  Jesus taught that our enemies are our neighbors.  Jesus taught that hell is a real place.  Jesus taught that we err greatly when we aim at worldly wealth.  Jesus taught that being truly blessed has nothing to do with what the world teaches.  Jesus taught that His Body and Blood are present in the Eucharist under the appearances of bread and wine.  Jesus taught that it is better to bear an injury than to retaliate.  Jesus taught that the one who comes to God with bitter tears and humility of mind is justified.  Jesus taught that it is not wise for us to decide where to draw the line between insiders and outsiders.  Jesus taught that the controversy over Jerusalem would lead to his return.  Jesus taught that the way to salvation is through faith.  Jesus taught that fasting was a sign of mourning.  Jesus taught that faith, simple childlike belief, is the key to the door of the kingdom.  Jesus taught that the humble were the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  Jesus taught that love is the most important reality in human life.  Jesus taught that mistakes are not sin.  Jesus taught that all must be born of water and the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God.  Jesus taught that the kingdom would not come with great glory, but would begin small and slowly spread to the entire world.  Jesus taught that a Disciple of the Way could enter the Kingdom while still alive in the body.  Jesus taught that the Word of God is truth.  Jesus taught that the presence of God is known outside of institutionalized religion.  Jesus taught that God wanted to give God's love to all of humanity equally.  Jesus taught that the Holy Spirit will come and dwell in us.  Jesus taught that there is no need for his disciple to worry about the necessities of life because God provides for those who put the kingdom first.  Jesus taught that He was the living Bread send down from heaven.  Jesus taught that He spoke the very words of God.  Jesus taught that people have to be ready to forgive.  Jesus taught that there is a lot of false thinking out there.  Jesus taught that because of what Adam did we all have become sinful inside and have died spiritually towards God.  Jesus taught that it is not eating with dirty hands that defiles.  Jesus taught that he came to earth to reestablish God's relationships with humanity.  Jesus taught that one must be converted to enter into the kingdom of heaven.  Jesus taught that we suffer from a soul-sorrow that separates us from God.  Jesus taught that death is not the end.  Jesus taught that the Sabbath should be broken if it conflicted with a higher law of God.  Jesus taught that one should avoid hypocrisy.  Jesus taught that Hell was a place of Memory.  Jesus taught that to be worthy of the coming Kingdom his followers should become like children.  Jesus taught that man is not defiled by what goes into the mouth but rather by what comes out of the mouth.  Jesus taught that there were Ten Commandments and Eight Beatitudes for everyone, everywhere and always.  Jesus taught that what we receive from God is proportional to what we believe.  Jesus taught that we should forgive.  Jesus taught that his purpose on Earth was to offer freedom from sin and reconciliation to God.  Jesus taught that His supernatural acts were done in The Power of The Holy Spirit.  Jesus taught that a "great chasm" or "gulf" separated the rich man and Lazarus.  Jesus taught that only the pure of heart will see God.  Jesus taught that receiving a child was like receiving the Father.  Jesus taught that in some the word will be stolen, choked out and die, while in others it will produce a crop.  Jesus taught that "the proper way to keep any commandment was to fulfill the purpose for which it was given."  Jesus taught that marriage was for life.  Jesus taught that there were men that "appear to people as righteous but on the inside" are "full of hypocrisy and wickedness".  Jesus taught that the way to enter God's kingdom is through the new birth.  Jesus taught that this is a universal condition and that all people are guilty before God.  Jesus taught that "Life is more than meat and the body more than raiment."  Jesus taught that God loves those who have fallen away.  Jesus taught that the Kingdom is "at hand".  Jesus taught that the manifest power of the Holy Spirit was positive proof of the presence of the Kingdom.  Jesus taught that "good works" are important.  Jesus taught that the whole of creation is valuable.  Jesus taught that to marry a divorced woman was to commit adultery.  Jesus taught that we must become as little children.  Jesus taught that you, like him, are meant to realize your own Christhood.  Jesus taught that we are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength.  Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is God's rule in the world, the presence of God's love, justice and peace.  Jesus taught that people throughout the world should be made aware of his life, his teaching, his death, and most importantly, of his resurrection.  Jesus taught that true prayer was an expression of relationship and communication with a heavenly Father.  Jesus taught that morality rises not from human nature, but from the relationship between humans and God.  Jesus taught that the Spirit of God dwells within us.  Jesus taught that words and example are effective and must coincide one with the other.  Jesus taught that true riches are not money and wealth, but love and kindness to others.  Jesus taught that man has lived in sin and separation from God ever since the fall or rebellion of Adam and Eve.  Jesus taught that one should pray in His name.  Jesus taught that He Himself was greater than the Temple.  Jesus taught that unity among his followers witnesses to the world that he is the Christ.  Jesus taught that He was God incarnate.  Jesus taught that in the Last Days false prophets would arise and deceive many.  Jesus taught that there would be spiritual rewards for those who had left families and home for the sake of the Kingdom.  Jesus taught that our love for Him must exceed our love for our families.  Jesus taught that spirit is more important than flesh.  Jesus taught that one who hates has already committed murder in his heart.  Jesus taught that we could accomplish a great mission by doing little things.  Jesus taught that we should do to others what we would like them to do to us.  Jesus taught that man is the light of God.  Jesus taught that his disciples are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.  Jesus taught that the inner quality called goodness was never static.  Jesus taught that sin is that which corrupts the very soul of man.  Jesus taught that a show of religiosity can't purify the heart.  Jesus taught that the tares and the wheat must grow together.  Jesus taught that the Shema is the greatest commandment in the Torah and loving your neighbor as yourself is the second greatest commandment in the Torah.  Jesus taught that he is the servant and messenger of that one true God.  Jesus taught that a man creates the standard by which he will be judged.  Jesus taught that "all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father."  Jesus taught that the Kingdom is for everyone but
